The best day for Nebraska Athletics since...?

That was the question posed in the late-night hours on Saturday after John Cook and No. 2 Nebraska volleyball took down No. 1 Wisconsin in a wild, monumental five-set thriller at the Devaney Center. Just a few hours earlier, Matt Rhule and Nebraska football set the table for a potentially massive day all around for the Huskers after they outlasted Northwestern in a rugged, classic Big Ten West-style game in their win over Northwestern at Memorial Stadium.

Saturday was building up to be one of the biggest sports days that the University of Nebraska has seen in a long time, and it absolutely delivered. Nebraska football is now 4-3 after having won three of its last four games, and Husker volleyball is 19-0 with the nation's No. 1 overall ranking on the way this week after snapping a 10-game losing streak to the juggernaut Badgers.

And don't forget recruiting: Rhule and the Huskers landed a big-time commitment from legacy recruit Caleb Benning, the 2024 Omaha Westside star who many believe is the best player in the state of Nebraska.
