Four-star safety Cam Jones, from Mansfield (Texas), chose Nebraska over Baylor and Ole Miss Saturday evening.

Jones visited Nebraska in December and followed up his official visit with an unofficial visit to Lincoln in January. Jones likes the coaching staff and the players on the current Husker roster.

"Nebraska is the right school for me because I think that I am on the same path as the coaches and the fans," Jones said. "I want to make history and bring back the Nebraska defense. I didn't just like the coaches the most at Nebraska, but also the players."

The Nebraska staff sees Jones being a big play maker for them in the secondary. Check out the film on Jones and you will see a player who can really deliver a hit. Jones says that he's coming to Lincoln to start as a true freshman.

"Nebraska is looking at me to be a run stop safety and also be a playmaker on the defensive side of the football," Jones aid. "I bring leadership, heart, energy and confidence. I think that I am the best and, with an opportunity, I am coming for a starting spot. No less."

Jones sees the opportunity at Nebraska to right the ship and be historic. He wants this first Scott Frost recruiting class to be the group that people are celebrating years from now and won't forget.

"It would mean the world to me to be the class that starts it all with coach Scott Frost," Jones said. "It will be us 20 years from now that they will be doing 30 for 30 documentaries about."

Jones will be back in Lincoln for a third time in April to see the Red-White Spring game.
