Mario Buford has committed to Nebraska. He is the Huskers’ eighth commit in the Class of 2024.

Husker fans should be well aware of Buford. The 5-foot-11, 168-pound corner from DeSoto High School in Texas is the younger brother of current Husker Marques Buford Jr., who started the first 11 games at safety in 2022.

Mario, a three-star prospect, has been on Nebraska’s radar for quite some time. He was offered by Nebraska’s previous staff on Jan. 23, 2021, but new head coach Matt Rhule and defensive backs coach Evan Cooper continued to press for Buford’s services.
