When will Jamie Nixon take his official to NU

UConn's Rivals site, "The-Boneyard.com", alerted us to the fact that New Haven (Conn.) Hyde Leadership High athlete Jamie Nixon was scheduling an official visit to the University of Nebraska. Huskeronline.com spoke with Jamie's father and he confirmed his son's plans to trip to Lincoln.

"Yes, James will be going to Nebraska on a visit," Lionel Nixon Sr. said.
Mr. Nixon has two other sons already playing college football, one of which is Lionel Nixon Jr., who is a freshman defensive back for the Maine Black Bears.
Mr. Nixon and Jamie will be in Lincoln to watch one of the first two Husker home games.
"It would be great to see the Maine game (Sept. 2) to see my son, but we might be going to the Wake Forest game (Sept. 9) instead. We're still trying to determine which one we'll go to."
If they go to the Wake Forest game instead, Jamie Nixon will be accompanied by his teammate, offensive tackle Bruce Campbell, who also has been offered by Nebraska.
Nebraska offered Nixon in May, and he also has offers from UConn, Maryland, North Carolina, Rutgers, Virginia, Florida and Oklahoma.
Jamie Nixon is currently away at fall training camp with his high school teammates.
"Yes, he went away for a week up to Woodstock, Connecticut for training and conditioning. He won't be back until Monday. James is one of those special athletes. Whether he plays defensive back or running back, the crowd will want to see him with the ball. He has that excitability factor. It's something you can't teach."
Mr. Nixon was asked whether he thought Lincoln, Nebraska was too far for his son to attend school.
"I told James that wherever he goes he needs to be comfortable there for four or five years. It's his future, not mine. We'll be looking at the education on our visits. That's the biggest thing for us: get the degree and everything else is secondary. We'll be looking at their degree program, how it ranks in the country and all that. What kind of support they give to their athletes will be the most important thing."
Though having three sons play football on the collegiate level rightly makes Mr. Nixon proud, it's another milestone that is more important to him.
"I will be more proud when they walk across the stage to get their degree."
Huskeronline.com will stay in touch with the Nixon family as they determine which date they will be in Lincoln for Jamie's first official visit.
