Walk-on DE Owen no longer a part of the Nebraska football team

HuskerOnline has confirmed through a University spokesperson that senior walk-on defensive end Dylan Owen is no longer a part of the Nebraska football team. He is the first known player that has left the team since the hiring of head coach Scott Frost.

Owen was one of two players hospitalized last month after a winter conditioning workout. The New York native saw limited action in three games last season.

In other news, head coach Scott Frost also told the Lincoln Journal Star on Thursday that wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey, the other player hospitalized last month remains with the team. He also said they are still evaluating the health status of injured running back Tre Bryant's knees.

"I know he's got some knee issues; we're trying to figure it out," Frost told the Journal Star. "We're hopeful. We have to see how it plays out. I don't think anything's definite on that right now."
