Terrius Purvey has three at the top

With Rivals.com releasing its updated Top 100 list, some players were moving onto the list and some were moving out. One who stayed on the list is the No. 68 ranked prospect Terrius Purvey. Purvey, from Gainesville (Texas) is also listed as the No. 3 all-purpose back in the country and he is anxious to prove that the hype he is receiving is justified.
"We just had our first day of school on Monday and it was pretty hard getting through practice after it," the 5-foot-10, 177-pound Purvey said. "It was fun, though. We had our two-a-days two weeks ago. I think we're going to be pretty good this year. I'm going to be doing a lot of running and catching a lot of balls out of the backfield this year, so I'm excited. We play our first game against San Antonio Prep on September 3."

Purvey currently has offers exclusively from Big 12 schools such as Nebraska, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State.
"I've been talking to Texas too and they said they want me to come and visit before they offer me. I think I'm going to do that. I like talking to coach (Bobby) Kennedy from Texas, and also coach (Chris) Thurmond from (Texas) A&M and coach (Josh) Henson from Oklahoma State."
Not coincidentally, those three schools top his list at the moment.
"I know that I want to (officially) visit Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas A&M. At Texas, it's just the tradition there. Texas has been #1 for me since I was a kid. I always liked them and watched them growing up. At Oklahoma State, they've had Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas and Tatum Bell all go to the NFL. At A&M, it's the whole fan-thing, the big crowds they get who are really into the games. I'd probably say Oklahoma State is sending me the most letters and they keep in touch a lot."
Two other Big 12 schools round out his top five.
"I'd put Nebraska at No. 4, and then maybe Oklahoma. I like Nebraska because they've always been a good running school. They're a good team with a new coach who's going to come in and make them even better. Oklahoma's a top school every year, and I like their program and everything. I've talked to coach (Bob) Stoops and coach (Cale) Gundy from there."
Though he has a general sense of his favorites, he's in no hurry to make a final decision.
"I think I'm going to take all of my visits before I decide. I'm not going to rush anything because I want to make the right decision."
What will be the deciding factors for where he eventually ends up?
"I want to play in the Big 12 for sure. I want to be around where my family can see my games. I want to see how cool the coaches are, and the fans too because I like to play in front of big crowds. I want to play for a top team that goes to BCS games. I'm going to major in business law."
Huskeronline.com will check back later with Terrius Purvey after he sets up his official visits.
