The rosters for the 2018 Shrine Bowl of Nebraska were officially announced on Tuesday afternoon, and the game will feature some heavy Husker flare.

A combined 11 future NU walk-ons will participate in the 60th annual high school football all-star game in Kearney, as well as several others going on to play collegiately next season.

The game will also include former Nebraska commit Masry Mapieu of York (who will attend Iowa Western C.C.), as well as Ohio signee Bryce Stai of Norris and Colorado State signee Zack Schlager of McCook.

On the South team, which will be coached by Aurora’s Kyle Peterson, the feature Husker walk-ons include Gretna’s Joey Johnson; Kearney Catholic’s Matt Masker; York’s Simon Otte; and Kearney’s Isiah Stalbird.

The North team, coached by Bellevue West’s Mike Huffman, will have Elkhorn South’s Moses Bryant; Yutan’s Colton Feist; Bellevue West’s A.J. Forbes; North Platte’s Bryson Krull; O’Neill’s Wyatt Liewer; and Norfolk’s Ryan Schommer.

Also suiting up for the South squad will be Omaha Central’s Jalen Harris, who holds an NU walk-on offer but remains undecided on his future school.

He’ll be joined by Mapieu; South Dakota State signees Tijah Davis of Boys Town and AJ Johnson of Millard West; and Stanford walk-on Dylan Plautz of Omaha Westside.

The North will also have IWCC-bound Milton Sargbah of Omaha North; North Dakota signee Marcus Vaughn-Jones of Creighton Prep; Northwest Missouri State signee Grant Matthies; and Central Missouri State signee Zion Perry of Lincoln High.

It should be noted that the state’s top two 2018 prospects, Nebraska signee Cameron Jurgens of Beatrice and Wisconsin signee Bryson Williams of Lincoln Southeast, will not play in the Shrine Bowl.

Jurgens is still recovering from a leg injury he suffered last season, and Williams is already enrolled at Wisconsin and getting ready for the start of spring practices.

Here are the full Shrine Bowl rosters for the North and South teams…
