NU among current favorites for Allen Walker

One prospect who just recently debuted on the Rivals100 for 2006 at No. 56 continues to draw attention, but for which position?
"The coaches ask me where I want to play and I tell them it doesn't matter because I'm comfortable on either side," Olive Branch (Miss.) athlete Allen Walker said. "If it's defense, it'll probably be strong safety, and if it's offense it'll be wide receiver. I'm OK either way. Just wherever I can get on the field the fastest."

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Walker said he's seen his recruitment hold steady lately with no new offers being placed on the table in the recent past.
"Pretty much the same people," he said. "Eight or nine (offers), I think: Auburn, Tennessee, Iowa, Louisville, Nebraska, LSU, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. There's not any more yet."
After the May evaluation period when Walker spent some time talking to coaches two schools moved a bit ahead with him, but it's close at the top.
"Yes sir, I talked to quite a few coaches during May. Probably the ones I liked talking to the most were from Florida, LSU and Nebraska (John Blake). Those three, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are the five that I like the best, and LSU and Florida might be a little ahead of the others."
Although Florida and LSU might have an early edge for Walker, they certainly aren't a lock, and a final decision from the speedy athlete probably won't happen anytime soon.
"No sir, I'm not going to do anything until I take my official visits. We've got some seven-on-seven camps to go to this summer and I'm supposed to going to Florida, too. I've already been to Ole Miss and Mississippi State, and I want to see what else is out there before I make a decision."
