Huskers land commit from Mississippi JUCO safety

The Nebraska football team picked up their first known commit of the weekend from Ellisville (Miss.) Jones County J.C. safety Deontai Williams.

The 6-foot, 180 pound Williams was originally committed to Florida this year but opened things back up after the Gators had a coaching change.

He played his high school ball at Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity International and had 12 Power Five offers at that time.

He made his commitment announcement on Twitter Sunday before leaving Lincoln. Jones is regarded as one of the top JUCO safeties in the nation and he gives the Huskers now 12 commits in their class of 2018.
