Nebraska's connections to the state of Louisiana and the LSU football program continue to produce.
The latest addition to the Husker roster is former Tiger and five-star wide receiver Trey Palmer.
The Kentwood, La. product announced on Instagram that he will be transferring to Nebraska after putting his name into the portal on Dec. 13.
This past season for LSU, Palmer played 389 snaps at wide receiver, catching 30 passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns. He's played 642 total snaps over the last three seasons, being targetted 67 times for 41 catches and 458 yards. He'll reunite at NU with former LSU wide receiver coach Mickey Joseph.
His long receptions in 2021 were 61 yards vs. Texas A&M, 58 yards vs. Mississippi State and 44 yards vs. Ole Miss. The most receptions he had in one game were seven at UCLA when he was targetted 10 times.
Coming out of high school, Palmer was ranked the No. 2 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana and the No. 2 overall athlete in the county for the class of 2019.
Palmer is the second FBS wide receiver portal addition to the Huskers 2022 roster, joining New Mexico State's Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda.
