Five-star Peat picks Stanford

Nebraska won't get the finish they hoped for with their 2012 signing class.
Tempe (Ariz.) Corona Del Sol five-star offensive lineman Andrus Peat officially picked Stanford over Nebraska in front of a live television audience on ESPNU.

"I was really impressed by the coaching staff," Peat said of Stanford during his live announcement on ESPNU.
"I felt really comfortable on campus and I think it's just a great opportunity for me to reach my fullest potential both athletically and academically. I think it's a really good fit."
Peat picked the Cardinal over the Huskers, despite the fact his brother Todd Peat is currently a freshman in the program and his cousin Avery Moss signed with NU on Wednesday.
He said that made the decision to turn down the Big Red that much harder.
"It was really tough," Peat said of turning down Nebraska. "Me and Todd (Peat) have had a really strong relationship and I really have a lot of respect for Coach (Bo) Pelini and what they're doing over there. I just thought Stanford was the best fit for me though as a person and in the classroom and on the field as well."
Andrus Peat said his brother Todd was supportive of his decision not to follow him to Nebraska.
"I talked to him this morning and he told me he'd be proud of me wherever I went," Peat said. "He thinks it's a great opportunity at Stanford. He's going to support me 100 percent."
