Back-up QB Marsh transferring
Former Omaha (Neb.) Millard South quarterback Bronson Marsh will transfer to Division II Nebraska-Kearney.
In his first interview since deciding to transfer, the Nebraska back-up QB said his decision to leave NU simply came down to being a competitor.

"There are really good people at Nebraska and they care about everyone," Marsh said. "It was a great experience. I love the place, it's just I feel this is a better fit for me.
"Coach (Bo) Pelini was very supportive and very nice about it and understood. He told me if I ever needed any help to call."
Out of high school the Lopers heavily recruited Marsh. This past season they struggled to find consistent play at the quarterback position.
With that said Marsh should have a great opportunity to win the job at UNK this spring. He registered for classes on Monday.
"It's appealing, definitely," Marsh said when asked about the chance to start right away. "I'm a competitor and I'll fight for the offensive position. I'm just excited about learning the offense as fast as I can.
"I knew that they really wanted me when I was in high school and that they pursued after me pretty tough. They run the same type of offense I ran back in high school and said that I'll have a pretty good chance to come out and compete for the starting position."
Marsh was one of three former All-Nebraska quarterbacks sitting on the Husker bench as back-ups to starter Taylor Martinez. Besides Marsh, both Grand Island's Ryker Fyfe and Aurora's Tyson Broekemeier all play behind Martinez and man NU's lower units and scout team.
With Tommy Armstrong and Johnny Stanton coming in, the odds of Marsh winning the starting job in 2014 seemed unlikely. Originally Marsh started his career at safety, but moved to quarterback during his second season. Marsh said Pelini left it open to him where he could play going forward.
"It was up to me, but Nebraska said I could stay at quarterback and see how well I did in the spring," Marsh said. "It was basically up to me. They thought I could play quarterback or safety."
Marsh will go to Nebraska-Kearney with three years to play three.
