Year of firsts: Rhule crowd surfs, feels like HS coach, seeks Rosetta Stone

Exactly one month from tomorrow, Matt Rhule will have officially been the head coach of Nebraska football for a full calendar year.

And what a year it's been.

It’s truly been a season of unprecedented occurrences and rare situations for Rhule as he tries to get the program back to the precipice of true contention. Even in the most innocent, most fun ways, some never-before-seen things are happening.

Take Rhule’s postgame celebration, for example, following the win over Northwestern. His crowd surfing at the hands, literally, of his players was pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime deal.

“I’ve never done anything like that,” Rhule said. “I’ve never danced in the locker room. I mean, most of the time I’m monotone after the game. I get a little bit fired up before the game, but after the game I’m like ‘all right, what’s next?’ But you know what? I just kind of felt…”
