INDIANAPOLIS – Nebraska football is being led into a new era under Matt Rhule as head coach, and he chose Jeff Sims as the quarterback to lead his first Husker team.
That term – lead – is one of the most important roles Sims must embrace in fourth college season. There is certainly some weight on his broad shoulders as he could play a massive part in this program achieving Rhule's ultimate long-term goal of restoring Nebraska to national prominence.
That's one reason for why this offseason was crucial for Sims. He needed to grow into that role in a hurry if he's to achieve his individual and team goals for this year and beyond.
