"Joe McCray has been dismissed for violation of team rules and will no longer be a part of our program at Nebraska," Collier said. "Joe is free to pursue his academic and athletic careers elsewhere, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors."
McCray was indefinitely suspended from the team last week after playing in 18 games for the Huskers this season while averaging 9.8 points and 3.7 rebounds. He played in 28 games last year as a freshman when he averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.
