Gaylord granted a waiver for a sixth-year of eligibility

Nebraska offensive lineman Christian Gaylord was officially granted a sixth-year of eligibility by the NCAA on Friday.

The Kansas native made the news public on Twitter.

Gaylord has suffered multiple different season-ending injuries over his career, including one on the opening day of practice this past August.

On top of that, Gaylord dealt with the tragic death of his father Scott, who was killed in a car accident on I-80 this past fall.

Gaylord's return gives the Huskers another veteran body on an offensive line that already returns their top six players from a year ago, on top of a very promising group of freshmen and redshirt freshmen.
