Why do people think Akoy is a difference maker he still has a long way to go...Hes a little over hyped in nebraska by the home town fans..I know he still has a year of high school left. IMO he would be a role player on an average MVC team the big ten would eat him up..

hes also 6'7 and not 6'9 and dosent have an offensive skill set to be a small forward in college and hes too thin to be a power forward in the big ten would get pushed around.....IMO a mid major school would be a better fit..

People like Jim Calhoun do not recruit a Nebraska kid unless they have good reason to. Coaches look at length including wing span, not height. Big kids need time to develop.
He'll play at a major BCS school at the 4 and 5 spot. I'm sure the UConn's of the world look at him as a project, but at NU he would play right away. Would be the best shot blocker we've had in quite some time. Will never be a great scorer or passer but should be OK. He would definitely be a plus defender and rebounder.

Yes, that's why about every major program is interested in him. You're nuts if you think he's a roll player in the MVC. He's rated #46 in the country by ESPN. Its hardly hometown hype.

The thing is, with the momentum that Coach Miles and his staff have built.....the positive direction we seem to be moving toward where high profile basketball players seem to be opening their eyes to the direction our program is headed, how long do we wait for Agau?
It's way too early to pose that question right now, but if things keep going the direction they're going. We want Agau, Coach Miles wants Agau, but how much does Agau want Nebraska?
What if other high profile basketball players decide they want to play for NU before Agau is ready to decide?
There aren't as many basketball scholarships to sit on as there is in football.
Just speculation at this point, but with the excitement that Coach Miles and his staff seem to be building, it could become a concern.

I wonder if it to early for Akoy. I have to talk to him on twitter and listened to the interviews of him. one of 2 scenario is possible, he has either made up his mind and is trying to find the right time to tell everyone, and maybe even screwing with everyone or he really has not made up his mind yet and is still trying to decide. it would be intresting to see if he even in even intrested in nebraska. it seem that he could play for a top 25 program and not even leave the city. that is a more likely scenario. if he stays in nebraska.

I see no way he wants to play at Creighton. With the offers he has, you have to think he wants to play at the BCS level. Plus, in a few years with Doug leaves that team will take a major step back. He is a rarity at the mid-major level. Even next year they lose some key components of their team. After this year and really the year after they won't be a top 25 team for long.

I'm not so sure you are right on this. It is no accident that cregiton is a top 25 program. they intentionally have tried to make them selfs that, by playing the upper half of the RPI. I think they could be the Gonzaga of the Missouri Valley Conference. It was planned that they be as good as they are. Having a top 25 ranking will help in recuiting. As far as Akoy goes. you may be right about he wanting to play in a better league. all the best player want to play the good leagues. I do think you Also have a point about when they get a new Coach, the talent could drop off if they are not careful, but that is only speculation at this point. He might be here as long as Dana was. which would not be a bad thing.

Playing the upper half of the rpi? You have proof of that?
Also I must laugh at you saying "they intentionally tried to be a top 25 team" or "they planned to be good.". Of course, what team doesn't do that?? You must not have been paying much attention to creightons schedule. Their schedule is he main reason they got left out of he tourny a couple years ago. Their schedule is the reason they only lost what..5 regular season games last year and STILL only got an 8 seed.
here you go!! here is the link to cbs sports RPI break down. I want you to look at the RPI of all the teams that are non-con. most are about the 172 mark which is the upper half of the rpi, a few are below it. then compare it with Nebraska as see if there is a difference. effort vs reward.
