Things just felt 'right' for Banks and Nebraska

Houston Westbury Christian lineman Brant Banks had several different Power Five offers and visited multiple difference campuses.

However, when it was also said and done the 6-foot-7, 280 pound Banks said something just felt "right" about Nebraska.

“I’d like to officially announce I’ll be continuing my athletic and academic career at the University of Nebraska,” Banks said as he made his official announcement on Houston television station ABC 13.

“It wasn’t really the flashy weight room or the cool locker rooms, it was more the people there. Every school has nice facilities and everything, but I just really felt I fit in with the people and everything. They are great people and they are honest and kind. I just had a great feeling when I was up there.”

Banks said maybe the hardest thing the last few days was being quiet about his decision after he informed Husker coaches Scott Frost and Greg Austin.

“(Frost and Austin) are really excited,” Banks said. “They offered me a while back, and when I told them I was actually committing to Nebraska they were super happy for me and excited. It was kind of hard to keep it on the down-low until today. They were really excited for me.”

As for his future position, Banks could play both offensive or defensive line, and he's open to either.

“I am going to be playing defensive line when I go there,” Banks said. “But however my body develops is where I’ll be playing. I’m happy playing either, but I am going to be starting playing on the defensive line.”
