Rivals250 DB gives Huskers great start to 2015

Nebraska started their 2015 class of with a bang today as Rivals250 cornerback Eric Lee committed during the Huskers' Junior Day.
The Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian product is no stranger to the Nebraska program. His father, Eric Lee Sr., used to work for the University and the family has visited Lincoln five times going back to last year's Spring Game.
Getting a good feel for what Nebraska's new defensive backs coach Charlton Warren is like as a person and a coach was key for the Lee family heading into their latest visit to Nebraska. After spending the day with Warren they felt completely comfortable in making the commitment to NU.
"Just meeting with Coach Warren and the staff again, being able to go over game film with them, and understanding the schemes and what they like to do I just could see myself fitting into that role," Lee said.
"I think Coach Warren, as a person, is a very good man. He has a military background just like my father has and the people I grew up around. I know that he is going to be very disciplined and that's something I look for in a coach. He's going to keep me grounded."
The 5-foot-10, 176-pound Lee is a physical corner and he feels like his strengths as a player fit Nebraska's schemes very well.
"I think just overall what I'm able to do is going to be able to help me play at Nebraska," Lee said. "I can do press-bail technique; I can press a receiver one-on-one. I mean, I can take the best receiver on the field and cover him up one-on-one, but something that I like that they like to do is they bracket receivers. So to know that you have a look up top helps you to be able to play as physical as possible."
Lee already had several offers from other programs and he'll likely continue to add more to his name. He said that it will be nice to receive more offers, but it won't change his commitment status to Nebraska.
With Lee a solid commit, he said he'll turn his focus to recruiting for the Huskers. A natural target will be his good friend, and Arizona State commit, Avery Anderson. Lee knows that Anderson has to do what's best for him in the end though so no matter what he'll respect his decision.
"I'll try to convince Avery on trying to come to Nebraska, but at the end of the day that's his decision," Lee said. "I've talked to a couple of guys today and I got some numbers. So hopefully I'll just keep getting in touch with more guys and just let them know what's going to happen at Nebraska and how special it's going to be."
