Moore will take the semester off from football
Sophomore Nebraska offensive lineman Tyler Moore will sit out the 2012 season to clear his head.
In an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, Moore's father Brian Moore confirmed that his son Tyler is back home in Florida and will not be playing football anywhere this fall.

Brian Moore said there is still a possibility Tyler could return to NU at the end of the semester, otherwise he'll look at attending either Florida or Florida State next fall.
"He is back home. He had some things he wasn't happy about at Nebraska, and he's going to come home to get his head straight," Moore's father told the Tampa Bay Times. "He'll take classes at St. Pete College, and then in January he'll make a decision."
Brian added that Tyler still considers himself a Husker at heart, but right now he just needs some time to figure things out.
"He loved Nebraska, he still loves Nebraska," Brian said to the Times. "Even when we were driving home yesterday, we were driving by Gainesville and I said maybe you'll be wearing the blue and orange, but he said I'd rather wear red."
NU offensive coordinator Tim Beck also addressed the Moore situation following Monday's practice and is hopeful the talented lineman will return to Lincoln someday.
"He's a great young man, and we'd love to have him in the program, and I think he knows that," Beck said. "I think he likes being here. I just think there's some things he needs to straighten out on his own, and we're giving him his freedom to be able to do that."
Even without Moore in camp, Beck still feels like the Huskers have some good depth at tackle.
Juniors Brent Qvale, Andrew Rodriguez and Jeremiah Sirles have all had strong camps and Beck feels like any of them can get the job done right now.
"I think you've got veterans in Sirles and A-Rod, who's having a good camp, and Qvale," Beck said. "Brandon Thompson's done some things before, and Givens Price is really coming on. I've been very impressed with what he's showing us. Sterup, Zach's been coming along. I really like our guys.
"We have some veterans over there that have a lot playing experience, and good young talent coming up. I like what we've got there."
For now though, the priority for Moore is just finding happiness again.
"Right now our No. 1 goal is to get him happy and loving football again," Brian Moore told the Tampa Bay Times.
