Nebraska added a Christmas commitment as Muskegon, Mich. linebacker Andrew Ward announced he had decided to be a Husker.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Ward visited Nebraska early this past fall to see NU take on the Oregon Ducks. He had been a longtime target of linebacker coach Trent Bray's and announced his intentions via Twitter.
Ward becomes the 14th known verbal commitment of Nebraska's 2017 recruiting class and joins Willie Hampton and Avery Roberts as linebacker commits.
The talented linebacker was one of the more productive defenders in the state of Michigan as a senior and helped to lead the Big Reds to a 12-2 record including a runner-up finish in the state championship game.
