10 takeaways on commit No. 16 WR Tyjon Lindsey

1. Nebraska just landed an instant impact type of player in wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey. He now becomes the highest rated commit in the class and brings NU one step closer to filling its needs at the position since graduating three seniors from the 2016 team.

2. Mike Riley has had major success utilizing undersized wideouts in the past like former Biletnikoff Award winner Brandin Cooks and James Rodgers among others.

3. Lindsey is a match up nightmare due to his combination of speed and quickness. He has elite change of direction and ability to make defenders miss in the open field. He also has the strength and speed to get off press coverage and stretch the field vertically.

4. Lindsey's versatility will allow the Huskers to be very creative with how they get him the ball. Short passes in the quick game, screens, jet sweeps, vertical passing game, return game on special teams, you name it, Lindsey has the ability to do it all.

5. There is no question that Lindsey is a super talent, but one thing that may be initially overlooked is the fact that he joins quarterback Tristan Gebbia in this class with whom he already has plenty of chemistry. Lindsey and Gebbia spent all last spring and summer playing on the same 7-on-7 team and are close on and off of the field.

6. The Huskers score a major recruiting victory over Big Ten Conference foe Ohio State by landing Lindsey. The Buckeyes went all out to get the talented athlete and initially won last August, but Nebraska receivers coach Keith Williams stayed with his recruitment of Lindsey and it paid off. This commitment will add a buzz to NU's final recruiting efforts as they look to close things out with several other top targets over the coming weeks.

7. Not only does Lindsey help bolster Nebraska's recruiting class and numbers at the wide receiver position, but he could now play a large role in helping the Huskers in next year's class. 2018 Rivals100 cornerback Brendan Radley-Hiles is cousins with Lindsey and the two are extremely close with one another. Radley-Hiles already held NU in high regard because of his relationship with head coach Mike Riley, new defensive backs coach Donte' Williams as well as former Calabasas and current Nebraska early enrollees Tristan Gebbia and Keyshawn Johnson Jr. Having Lindsey at Nebraska now makes them an even stronger player in his recruitment.
