Huskers land Tre Bryant

The Huskers came away with a win against Michigan State and also with a commitment. Tre Bryant, a standout running back from St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College HS, committed to Nebraska publicly once he got home, but indicated that he had called the Nebraska staff before the visit to give his verbal commitment.
"I told Coach Mike Riley and Coach Reggie Davis the Thursday before my visit that I was committing," Bryant said. "I really like the offensive system and I think that I am a good fit. I can really envision myself there in their offense. We run a similar offense. They said that if I am ready to go then I can come in and play."

Bryant had been committed to Kansas State and had taken another official visit to another Big Ten school the weekend before coming to Lincoln to see what Nebraska had to offer. The talented running back says that KSU wasn't the right fit for him and really wanted to experience the gameday atmosphere in Lincoln while on his official visit.
"I felt like Kansas State wasn't the best situation for me," Bryant said. "I took an official visit to Minnesota and the official visit to Nebraska. I just had such a great experience at Nebraska. I wanted to get to see the fan base and experience the gameday atmospehere. I had already done the research on the offense and the school before I visited."
Bryant was already committed to Nebraska prior to the weekend, but the visit definitely didn't give him any reason to reconsider his decision. He says that the visit to Nebraska was perfect in every way.
"The visit was a 20 on a scale of one to ten!" Bryant said. "It was really off the charts. I loved all of it. The coaches answered all of the questions that my dad and I had. Nothing could have made it any better."
Christian Brothers College HS is in the playoffs and is perfect through 12 games so far this season. Bryant is having a solid season indicating that he is averaging over 10 yards per rushing attempt.
"We are in the state semi-finals next weekend," Bryant said. "We are 12-0 and before the last game I had 930 yards rushing on 85 or so attempts and I have scored 22 touchdowns."
