Huskers expected to face Oklahoma St. in South Dakota

Nebraska head coach Tim Miles revealed that his team was closing in on scheduling a neutral site game in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Wednesday night, and now an opponent appears to have surfaced.

Per multiple sources, the Huskers are expected to face former Big Eight and Big 12 foe Oklahoma State at the Samford Pentagon. A date for the game has yet to be officially set.

The Cowboys went 21-15 overall and 8-9 in the Big 12 last year in their first season under head coach Mike Boynton.

OSU advanced to the third round of the NIT and held the rare claim of sweeping their regular-season series with Kansas in addition to top-25 victories over Florida State (19th), Oklahoma (twice, 4th and 6th), West Virginia (19), and Texas Tech (6).

In all, Oklahoma State defeated six teams that advanced to the Sweet 16 last season.

Nebraska is also expected to host Western Illinois on its 2018-19 non-conference schedule.

That game would serve as a reunion for NU assistant coach Jim Molinari, who served as head coach for the Bulldogs from 2008-14.

Once those two games are finalized, the Huskers will only have two open spots remaining to fill out their 31-game schedule.
