Nebraska has added another long snapper to their roster.
Former University of Miami long snapper Paul Kelly was seen Tuesday at NU's practice fully suited up wearing a No. 61 jersey.
Kelly graduated from UM this past December, so he would be immediately eligible to play in the 2014 season as a graduate transfer. The Huskers actually will play the Hurricanes in Lincoln on Sept. 20.
The 6-foot-1, 255-pound Kelly played in 23 games as a long snapper the past two seasons for the Hurricanes, and was seen working with NU's kickers and punters, along with current long snapper Josh Faulkenberry.
It's unknown what the official status of Gabe Miller is for the 2014 season, but he has yet to practice or take part in any team drills after injuring his back this off-season. Miller started all 13 games at long snapper as a freshman in 2013.
Kelly is originally from Davie, Fla., and started his college career at John Carroll University in Ohio where he played defensive line, before transferring to Miami.
Head coach Bo Pelini has yet to comment on Kelly's status on the team, and he's not scheduled to speak to the media until Thursday. However, sophomore Nathan Gerry said following Tuesday's practice that with the addition of Kelly, he's no longer working as a long snapper in practice.
