Bell hosts Pelini on Tuesday morning, makes decision

After an unofficial and official visit to Lincoln and two in-home visits in the last several weeks, three-star wide receiver Kenny Bell went quiet to reporters trying to find out what was next - until today.

This morning, the Boulder (Colo.) Fairview athlete hosted Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini and Ted Gilmore. Even though he knew before the Husker coaches came in, that's when he delivered the news he was ready to be a Husker.

"Yeah, I did it this morning," Bell said about his commitment. "I took a long break. I wasn't taking phone calls. I was asking everyone to take my time and I came home. It felt right. Coach Pelini and coach Gilmore came and visited me this morning. I let them know I was ready to come to Lincoln."

The factors as to why he chose Nebraska over several other schools is a long one.

"It's hard to list all the things I like because I'd be on the phone for the next hour and a half with you," Bell said about NU. "The two or three things I think would be the pride and the tradition of the football team. It doesn't get better anywhere else. The coaching staff, unbelievable, coach Pelini, coach Gilmore will take everyone that plays under them to places they can't take themselves. I'd have to say the atmosphere as well.

"It's addicting."

As to where he'll start at Nebraska position-wise is still up in the air. Though most assumed wide receiver would be where he'd be during his Husker career, he spoke with Pelini today about how open he would be to playing cornerback as well - where he played in high school.

He's ready to do whatever it takes to get on the field.

"They said they're going to get through the summer and they're just going to throw me on both sides," Bell said. "Coach Bo asked me where I wanted to play. I don't mind where I play - I just want to play football."

Though Bell was thinking about some Pac-10 visits in January, that's not the case any longer.

"No this is it," Bell said. "My yes is my yes, I'll be in Lincoln, Nebraska in June."
