Report: LeSean McCoy to enter 2009 NFL draft

According to a report in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, McCoy will meet with Pitt head coach Dave Wannstedt on Friday to inform him that he intends to declare for the draft, which will be held in April.
If he declares for the draft, McCoy will be the fifth underclassmen running back to do so, joining Iowa's Shonn Greene, Connecticut's Donald Brown, Georgia's Knowshon Moreno, and Ohio State's Chris Wells. Wells declared his intention to enter the draft on Thursday.
In two seasons at Pitt, McCoy rushed for 2,816 yards and 35 touchdowns. In 2008, he rushed 308 times for 1,488 yards and 21 scores, finishing as the No. 10 rusher in the nation and tied for second in scoring. McCoy was also the second-leading receiver for Pitt in 2008, catching 32 passes for 305 yards.
If he enters the draft this year, he will become the third Pitt player to leave for the NFL before his senior season since 2004. That year, receiver Larry Fitzgerald was the No. 2 overall pick. In 2007, cornerback Darrelle Revis was the No. 14 overall pick.
