Florida commit considering other visits
Gary Brown committed to Florida more than nine months ago. In the entire time he has called himself a Gator, he hasn't once shown signs of wavering. Despite his firm commitment, Brown said the recruiting hasn't slowed down by other schools.Quincy (Fla.) West Gadsden defensive tackle
"Even though I am committed to Florida a lot of coaches have been calling," Brown said. "You would think the process would have mellowed down a little bit but it is the same intensity, coaches are still coming after me."
The Rivals100 prospect talked about a few of the programs that have been showing him attention throughout the fall.
"Florida State, Clemson, Miami, UTEP, and N.C. State are some of the schools I hear from," Brown said. "I have been looking into taking some visits, I really have, but right now I really just want to focus on my visit to Florida because I am still solid. I am still going to Florida."
The 6-foot-3, 275-pound Brown said that the reason he is considering possibly taking other visits is that this is a once in a lifetime experience.
"It is a process," Brown said. "This is the only time you are going to enjoy this so you should look into it."
As for when he will visit Florida, a school which he repeatedly said he was firm to in the interview, that will come after the Gators play in the January 8th BCS Championship Game.
"I will probably go some time after the Championship," Brown said. "I haven't set up a specific date but I just want to see what it is like after football season. Football is going to come and go, so I just want to see what life is like after football there."
Brown will be working in the trenches for the White Team at Sunday's Under Armour All-American Game.
