Houston turns back shorthanded Raiders

MURFRESSBORO, Tenn.(AP) Aubrey Coleman scored 24 points and Kelvin Lewis added 23 points to lead Houston to a 70-67 victory over Middle Tennessee on Tuesday night.

Houston (5-1) led 69-64 on Coleman's basket with 36 seconds remaining, but MT's Demetrius Green hit his only 3-pointer of the game to cut the lead to 69-67 with 13 seconds left.

Houston's Horace McGloster hit one of two free-throw attempts with 7 seconds left for a 70-67 lead, and MT's Kevin Kanaskie missed a 3-point attempt with 1 second remaining.

Desmond Yates scored 19 points and had nine rebounds for the Blue Raiders (2-3). Green added 17 points and seven rebounds.

Houston's Marcus Cousin blocked six shots and had nine rebounds.
