Penn State gets No. 1 for 2010

Penn State got its 2010 class kicked off in style on Saturday, when Canonsburg (Pa.) Canon-MacMillian linebacker Mike Hull made a verbal commitment to Tom Bradley and the Nittany Lions' staff.

"I just felt like it was the right time to commit to Penn State," he said following the Lions' win over Michigan State. "I love the atmosphere, I love the school and the coaching staff. I just wanted to get it over with and get the class of 2010 kicked off right here."

The Rivals250 to Watch prospect held offers from Michigan, Pittsburgh and West Virginia, in addition to Penn State.

Prior to this season, Hull earned first-team all-conference honors two years in a row. He started at inside linebacker as a freshman, and finished the season with 109 tackles. He moved to outside linebacker as a junior, and racked up 117 tackles. On top of that, he rushed for over 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns last season, leading all WPIAL Quad-A running backs.

He is the son of former Penn State linebacker Tom Hull.
