Georgia RB Moreno not worried about polls
Georgia down to No. 2 Tuesday, but running back Knowshon Moreno wasn't worried. Both the Associated Press and USA Today coaches' poll bumped
"When you're out on the field, the rankings don't matter, you know?" Moreno said.
"We've just got to take care of business," Moreno said. "Everything's still in our hands."
In the AP poll, the Trojans nudged out the Bulldogs with 21 first place votes, compared to 20 for Georgia
Is LeFevour Tebow-like?
LeFevour, a 6-foot-3, 229-pounder, threw for 3,600 yards and rushed for 1,100 more - numbers that actually aren't that far off from the Gators' Heisman Trophy winner.
"His production is unbelievable," Richt said. "Central Michigan runs an offense similar to Georgia Southern, but last week Coach (Chris) Hatcher was trying to get it done with rookies in there. This guy is not a rookie at all."
Central Michigan certainly considers LeFevour a big deal.
The school spent $50,000 to install a 30-by-60 billboard on the scoreboard at Comerica Park in Detroit, pumping the senior as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate.
Freshman trio impresses Richt
Richt said he was pleased with the play of his wide receivers Saturday, especially when it came to blocking down field.
Tavarres King didn't catch a pass but was one of the most impressive at all.
"There was one play where Cordy (offensive guard Cordy Glenn) was blocking a guy out of the frame, and on that same clip Tavarres was blocking a guy 35 yards down the field, staying with it the whole way," Richt said. "During that same play Caleb (King) was making people miss, doing a great job running the ball. Those were three freshmen in that one clip that really encouraged me. We had a lot of guys who did something stellar, but that particular play was neat to watch."
A.J. Green received his share of kudos as well after he caught two passes for 40 yards, with one going 4 yards for a touchdown.
"A.J. is still a little indecisive, but that's true of any true freshman."
