Rodgers-Cromartie still rising at Combine

We asked NFL scout and draft partner Frank Coyle of draftinsiders.com to pick out some players who have helped - and hurt - themselves thus far at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Tuesday: Helping their cause
CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State
The rising star of the postseason had another big performance on the heels of a terrific Senior Bowl week. He continued his stellar postseason with a blazing 4.33 time, 17 reps in the lifting and a fine 38.5-inch vertical leap. His workout at the Combine could push him into the first round.
CB Antoine Cason, Arizona
Cason may have been the senior prospect with the most to prove at this event. There were questions about his speed prior to the combine, but he answered his critics. Cason had a strong overall workout, including a 4.49 sprint time. He did 20 reps in the bench press, posted a 35.5-inch vertical leap and a 10'8" broad jump. That effort probably guarantees him a first-round grade.
CB Justin King, Penn St
This athletic junior corner had the type of workout an underclassman must produce to be an early draft selection. He ran a low 4.33 time, looked sharp in the agility drills and did 14 repetitions of 225 pounds.
CB Orlando Scandrick, Boise St
This quick underclassman ran a blistering 4.33 time, which will elevate him in the cornerback rankings. At 192 pounds, he is a good-looking prospect that scouts are going to do more research on in the coming weeks. Scandrick did not lift at the combine.
SS Josh Barrett, Arizona St
Barrett is a physical specimen who put on a show in Indianapolis. He ran a blazing 4.33 time at 223 pounds. He also did 17 reps and garnered attention after an injury-marred senior season.
Tuesday: Hurting their cause
FS Kenny Phillips, Miami
Once considered a high first-round pick, this prospect left more questions than answers after a very ordinary workout. He ran very disappointing 4.55 and 4.54 times and did 19 reps in the bench press. His Miami workout will be critical for him to stay in the first round.
CB Brandon Flowers, Virginia Tech
This junior corner failed to live up to high expectations when he ran very ordinary 4.55 and 4.58 times. He did only 14 reps and posted a 30-inch vertical leap. He needs a huge pro day to solidify a first-round grade.
CB DeJuan Tribble, Boston College
This smallish senior corner continues to have just an average postseason. He ran very ordinary 4.55 and 4.57 times and came in under 5'9" when measured. He also did only 13 reps in the bench press.
FS Marcus Griffin, Texas
This senior safety had a disappointing workout, including a poor 4.71 time in the sprint. He also did only 13 reps and posted an ordinary 31.5-inch vertical leap. He needs a strong showing at the Texas pro day to improve his stock.
SS D.J. Wolfe, Oklahoma
After coming off a good 2007 season and solid performance at the Senior Bowl, he ran a poor 4.65 time. He opted not to lift in Indianapolis, which makes his pro day critical to his final draft status.
