Big 12 Week 4 Recap
Blake Szymanski threw three touchdown passes and also ran for a score as the Bears improved to 3-1 with a 34-21 victory over Buffalo. The Bears had three sacks and three interceptions. Baylor scored 17 third-quarter points to expand on a 10-7 halftime lead.

The Buffaloes' offense exploded for 634 yards in a 42-0 victory over Miami University. QB Cody Hawkins threw for 275 yards and two TDs, and also ran for a score. A week after being held to minus-27 rushing yards by Florida State, the Buffs ran for 359 against the RedHawks. Three Colorado players rushed for at least 90 yards.
Next: Saturday, vs. Oklahoma.
Iowa State
Toledo rallied late to beat the Cyclones 36-35. Iowa State's Bret Culbertson, who kicked five field goals last week in an upset of Iowa, had a potential game-winning 38-yard field-goal attempt blocked with 14 seconds left. Iowa State led 35-24 with 5:25 left before Toledo rallied.

The Jayhawks rolled up 615 total yards in crushing Florida International 55-3 to move to 4-0. Kansas scored on a blocked punt in the first quarter and on an interception return in fourth quarter. QB Todd Reesing had four completions of more than 30 yards and finished with 368 yards.
Next: Oct. 6, at Kansas State.
Kansas State
The Wildcats were off last week.
Next: Saturday, at Texas.
Chase Daniel and the offense put up big numbers again in a 38-17 victory over I-AA Illinois State. Daniels threw for 294 yards and three TDs and the Tigers rolled up 581 yards and 38 first downs. (Yes, 38.) The longest of the Tigers' five scoring drives lasted 3:33.
Next: Oct. 6, vs. Nebraska..
The Huskers had 552 yards of offense, but barely held on to edge Ball State 41-40. Sam Keller threw for a school-record 438 yards and three touchdowns. The Huskers also had a 100-yard rusher and two 100-yard receivers. But the defense was shredded to the tune of 610 yards, with Ball State throwing for 422 yards.
Next: Saturday, vs. Iowa State.
The Sooners scored at least 50 points for the fourth time this season, blasting host Tulsa 62-21. Sam Bradford threw two TD passes to Juaquin Iglesias, Allen Patrick rushed for 145 yards and two scores and DeMarco Murray scored three times twice on runs and once on a kick return. Oklahoma had 553 yards of offense, including 285 on the ground.
Next: Saturday, at Colorado.
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys rushed for 366 yards and overcame a 646-yard passing day by Graham Harrell to beat Texas Tech 45-42. Oklahoma State had three players rush for 100 yards. The winning score came on a 54-yard TD pass to TE Brandon Pettigrew with 1:37 left.
Next: Saturday, vs. Sam Houston State.
The Longhorns breezed to a 58-14 victory over Rice. They led 41-7 at halftime, and the starters were on the bench early in the third quarter. QB Colt McCoy threw for 295 yards in the first half and 333 for the game. Rice finished with minus-11 yards rushing.
Next: Saturday, vs. Kansas State.
Texas A&M
The Aggies' offense was shut down in a 34-20 loss at Miami. A&M scored twice in the fourth quarter, long after the outcome had been determined. A&M was held to 38 total yards in the first half, which ended with Miami on top 24-0. The Aggies finished with just 240 yards, including only 98 on the ground.
Next: Saturday, vs. Baylor.
Texas Tech
Graham Harrell threw for 646 yards and five TDs, but it wasn't enough as the Red Raiders fell 45-42 at Oklahoma State. Tech allowed 366 rushing yards. WRs Michael Crabtree and Danny Amendola combined for 470 yards and four TDs.
Next: Northwestern State (La.).
