Big three represented well in pre-eval Rivals100

With the big three states of California, Texas and Florida again leading the way, the Rivals.com Pre-Evaluation Rivals100 features many of the top prospects for the Class of 2008.

The list is a "watch list" which outlines many of the country's top prospects. It is not ranked numerically as prospects are sorted according to their last names.

A dozen California prospects, along with 11 from Texas and Florida headline the state representation on the list.

The states of Louisiana, Ohio and Georgia are well-represented on the list with five prospects each. North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Alabama and Virginia each have four representatives each.

The University of Georgia, which is off to a tremendous start to next year's recruiting efforts, has three verbal commitments on the list in Summerville (S.C.) wide receiver A.J. Green, Waynesboro (Ga.) Burke County defensive end Cornelius Washington and Cartersville (Ga.) Cass running back Richard Samuel.

Green and Samuel were Rivals.com Junior All-American's, respectively.

Southern California is one of three teams with has two early verbals on the list. Anaheim (Calif.) Servite wide receiver prospect D.J. Shoemate and his high school teammate, offensive lineman Matt Kalil.

Nebraska has Lincoln (Neb.) Southwest offensive lineman Baker Steinkuhler and Harlan (Iowa) offensive lineman Dan Hoch.

Oklahoma has dipped into the state of Texas to get Keller (Texas) Fossil Ridge defensive end R.J. Washington and Gilmer (Texas) running back Justin Johnson.

Clemson (Bamberg (S.C.) Bamberg-Erhardt defensive tackle DaQuan Bowers, Michigan (Detroit Cass Tech athlete Boubacar Cissoko), Tennessee (Maryville (Tenn.) tight end Aaron Douglas), Arkansas (Dardanelle (Ark.) offensive lineman Matt Hall) and Arizona (Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton athlete Gerell Robinson) currently have one commit each on the list.

Rivals.com Junior of the Year Terrelle Pryor of Jeanette (Pa.) High headlines the quarterbacks on the list, along with Houston gunslinger Andrew Luck, Culver City (Calif.) passer Darius Banks, Charlotte (N.C.) Latin passer Braden Hanson, Missouri's Blaine Gabbert and Artesia (N.M.) signal caller Landry Jones.
