Williams hears the Aggies call early

One of the top wide receiver prospects in the Lone Star state next year will be 2007 receiver Malcolm Williams, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound leading receiver for the talent producing Garland High School is on the board with his first offer.

Texas A&M came through first with their offer and the speedy receiver, who missed much of his junior season due to a broken bone in his foot, is ready to get back on the field and increase that offer number.

"I was happy because it was my first one," Williams said. "I was kind of excited about it. They're a good school and they're coming up. That might be a school I could go to. That's a pretty good program out there."

Williams said that growing up he watched schools like Texas, Texas Tech, and Michigan. Two of those schools have sent him contact.

"I've gotten mail from Texas Tech and Texas, but not Michigan yet," Williams said. "I would say those two teams send the most. If I had to guess, I would say that those two and Oklahoma could be the first to offer."

Williams says that the broken bone in his foot has pretty much healed up. Today in the weight room he gave it a rigorous test and it held up just fine.

"Yeah, we were maxing out today and I was doing squats with it," Williams said. "It felt find. I'm just ready to get out there again. I played on varsity as a sophomore, but I didn't start much. I was getting better every week up until I got hurt."

"We're ready to get back out there practicing so we can get to the playoffs and win a title. That's what is on my mind now."
