Carlberg Sets UNC Visit Date
Drayton Carlberg could be a huge piece of the puzzle as North Carolina finishes off it's Class of 2015. He just set an official visit to Chapel Hill.Defensive tackle
According to Ryan Burns of the Minnesota site GopherIllustrated.com here on the Yahoo! Sports/Rivals.com network, Carlberg scheduled two official visits recently.
Carlberg will be at North Carolina on Sept. 6 and Oregon on Oct. 18. North Carolina takes on San Diego State the weekend Carlberg will be in Chapel Hill and Oregon takes on Washington in a rivalry game that weekend he visits Eugene in mid-October.
It's not altogether surprising that Carlberg would officially visit UNC and Oregon. After all, those were two of the six schools left standing when he narrowed his list recently. Cal, Michigan State, Minnesota and Vanderbilt were the others.
The 6-foot-5, 281-pound defensive tackle from Minneapolis (Minn.) De La Salle is that state's No. 2 prospect and the No. 27 defensive tackle in the entire '15 class.
Most pundits have given Minnesota the inside track to keep Carlberg close to home, but the three-star defensive lineman is intent on going through the process, taking his visits, and giving every school a fair hearing.
Carlberg visited North Carolina at the end of July so it's obviously a very good sign that he's willing to fly all the way back to Chapel Hill in such a relatively short period of time.
