Hannibal OL hunting offers
Although no offer has yet been made to 2016 Hannibal (MO) offensive lineman Dylan Powell, Missouri offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Josh Henson spoke to the soon-to-be-junior guard as if one could be on the horizon.
The two got plenty of time to talk earlier this month when Powell attended Missouri's team camp on a Friday and its individual camp on the following Sunday.
"He was just asking how I've been and everything," Powell said. "He told me they really liked me and they're really interested in me. He said they really like what I do and how I play and we'll be in touch."
Although he grew up rooting for Missouri, Powell is keeping his options - and there is the potential to be many of them - open. The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder has drawn interest from 14 schools already, including Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas State, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State and Nebraska.
"I like all the school I've talked to so far," he said. "I haven't thought about who's leading right now. I'm going to enjoy the process. I want to go visit everywhere so I can enjoy the experience and take it all in. I'll get some visits and offers first then I'll pick out a list and go from there."
Besides Missouri, Powell has already camped with Nebraska and Iowa this summer. He's also planning to make stops at Northern Iowa and Illinois State before the season rolls around.
"I'll just go wherever the best fit for me and my family is," Powell said. "I don't think how close a school is will matter. It's about what's the right fit."
