Eliminate the dry spells

When you look at Nebraska's past five losses, one constant has reared its ugly head at one point - or a few - in each game, and that has been extended scoring droughts that all but ruin the Huskers' chances of winning. Poor shot selection, turnovers and just plain not making baskets have all played their part in NU's offensive struggles, but whatever the reasons they simply cannot continue if Nebraska is to turn its losing streak around. The Huskers need to be patient and work within the offense to make sure they keep putting points on the board.
Don't give away points

Not only are Nebraska's offensive woes reflecting on its side of the scoreboard, they're also giving opponents easy points off of turnovers or quick, low-percentage shots that let teams get into transition. Considering how tough it's been for the Huskers to keep a consistent offensive flow going since the start of Big Ten play, they would definitely be well served to not give away points to their opponents through costly, preventable mistakes. It goes back to taking care of the ball and setting up quality shots, which will go a long way in solving a lot of NU's problems.
Stay focused

From the casual fan's perspective, Nebraska can look completely out of sorts on both ends of the floor at times, which generally leads to turnovers and bad shots or easy layups for their opponents. When you sit down and look at it, though, the bulk of those mistakes are a result of one or two players simply not being in the right place or going the wrong direction on a play. Those types of concentration errors are things winning teams just don't do, and for Nebraska has to eliminate them to ever get out of cellar of the Big Ten.

Nebraska head coach Tim Miles on Nebraska's difficult schedule to open Big Ten play:

"We've had a difficult run of games just like everybody in our league is going to go through. I read all the stuff about, 'Oh now jeez, now they've got this team and that team,' but that's the way it is all the time in this league. Even we're hard to play against. I've said that time and time again, and look where we are right now."
Sophomore wing Terran Petteway on improving his shot selection moving forward:

"I just need to let it come to me and stop taking those crazy shots I've been taking lately and just let the offense come to me. I'm going to get the shots, I just need to stay patient, really. That's my biggest problem, is just staying patient."

Ohio State 76-70
