By the numbers: NC State's four departing players

Raleigh's worst-kept secret became official on Monday when junior forward C.J. Leslie announced that he would join classmate Lorenzo Brown and leave NC State early to enter the NBA Draft.

The duo joins senior tandem Scott Wood[/db] and Richard Howell as the departing nucleus of the Wolfpack, which has accomplished some incredible feats and returned NC State to the national picture on the hardwood while reaching consecutive NCAA Tournaments.

Below is a by the numbers look at what the quartet was able to accomplish during their careers in the Red and White.

1 Senior Scott Wood leaves with the school record of 334 career 3-pointers, which ranks fifth in ACC history. Wood also holds program standards for games played (138) and started (136).

3 Junior Lorenzo Brown is just the third in program history to reach 500 career assists, finishing behind Chris Corchiani and Sidney Lowe with 589 in his career. This past season, Brown tied for sixth nationally with an average of 7.2 per game.

3 Junior C.J. Leslie is one of just three players who ranked in the ACC's top 10 this year for scoring (15.1 ppg, seventh), rebounding (7.4 rpg, eighth) and field goal percentage (.519, seventh).

4 Senior Richard Howell is tied for fourth all-time with 132 games played (Gavin Grant and Sammy Ranzino). He was also one of just four BCS players to average a double-double in conference action (12.3 points, 11.4 rebounds per game), and he led the ACC and ranked fifth nationally in overall rebounding (10.9 per game).

5 Howell is one of five players in program history to reach at least 1,000 career points (1,214) and 1,000 career rebounds (1,055). The others are: Ronnie Shavlik (1,761 points, 1,598 rebounds), Tommy Burleson (1,598, 1,066), Mel Thompson (1,574, 1,063) and Bobby Speight (1,430, 1,057). Howell also ranks first all-time with 392 offensive boards and fifth in total rebounds.

5 Leslie ranks fifth all-time in program history with 139 blocks.

5 All five of NC State's starters at the end of the year earned ACC honors - Howell was a first-team All-ACC honoree by the media and second-team by the coaches. Brown and Leslie were named to the second- and third-teams, respectively, by both the media and coaches, while freshman T.J. Warren was an All-Rookie selection. Wood was named ACC All-Tournament second-team.

7 Brown's 172 steals ranks seventh all-time in program history. He led the ACC in the category for each of the past two years.

11 With the experienced nucleus, NC State posted 11 wins against ACC foes this season, its highest total since 2003-04.

13 Brown is also tied for 13th in NC State's annals with 95 games started (Curtis Marshall also started 95 games).

18 Wood ranks 18th all-time in program annals with 1,467 points.

18 Howell posted 18 double-doubles as a senior, which is tied for the ACC lead and tied for sixth nationally. Tommy Burleson is the only player in school history to ever record more in a single season.

20 Leslie stands 20th in Pack history with 723 career rebounds.

23 Leslie also ranks 23rd in school history with 1,359 points.

44.1 Wood led the ACC in three-point field goal percentage (44.1 percent) and made three-pointers per game (2.97). He ranked 11th nationally in three-point field goal percentage.

55 Everett Case is the only coach to win more games (55) in his first two seasons coaching the Pack than Mark Gottfried (48). Gottfried is the first coach in school history, and just the third in ACC annals, to take his first two squads to the NCAA Tournament.

63 With all four players on the roster, NC State compiled a record of 63-40 (.610) overall and 25-25 against ACC competition.

89 Wood also holds the school record for career free throw percentage (233-263, .890). He would have paced the ACC and ranked among the nation's top five this season with a 91.4 percent success rate from the charity stripe, but he did not met the benchmark of 2.5 made free throws per game to qualify. Wood's career free throw percentage is the ACC's third-best all-time.

329 The foursome combined for 329 blocks; Leslie led the way with 136 in his career.

469 The quartet combined for 469 steals during their careers; Brown led the way with 172.

470 The foursome played in a total of 470 games during their Wolfpack careers, including 397 starts.

1,039 The four departing players recorded a total of 1,039 assists while playing in the Red and White; Brown led the way with 589.

1983 Was the last year that NC State recorded more than the 24 victories they have collected during each of the last two years. Jim Valvano's National Championship squad in 1983 went 26-10; NC State was 24-13 last year and 24-11 this season. The 48 combined wins are the most in back-to-back seasons since 1981-82 and 1982-83 (also 48).

2004 Howell was NC State's first All-ACC first-teamer since Julius Hodge in 2004.

2,571 The four Wolfpackers pulled down a combined 2,571 rebounds during their careers; Howell led the way with 1,055.

5,207 The foursome combined for 5,207 points during their NC State careers. Wood led the way with 1,467 and they were just the ninth team in ACC history to have four 1,000-point scorers on the same roster. There are 48 players in program history who have reached the 1,000-point plateau, and the Pack has boasted a trio of such players twice in their history (2008-09 with Brandon Coster, Ben McCauley and Courtney Fells and 1982-83 with Thurl Bailey, Dereck Whittenburg and Sidney Lowe).
