Tuesday's Top Tigers

Tuesday's Top Tigers makes its return to PowerMizzou.com. A player's ranking one week has no bearing on his placement on the list the next week. Here is our take on the Tigers who had the best performances during the 62-10 win over Southeastern Louisiana:

Tuesday's Top Tigers
1 Marcus Murphy, TB/PR Murphy ran fine, but he's on this list for 180 yards and two touchdowns as a punt returner. He was named special teams player of the week and looks like a true weapon for Mizzou.NR
2 Sheldon Richardson, DT Richardson was Missouri's best defender in camp and he was in the opener as well. After making some inflammatory comments, he'll have to back up his talk on the field this week. 2
3 Kony Ealy, DE Ealy maintained his spot from last week with a jarring sack and strip that led to a touchdown and a strong performance against the Lions. 3
4 Kendial Lawrence, TB Lawrence got 76 of his 121 yards on a single carry. He didn't carry a heavy load, but looked good while he was on the field. 7
5 Jimmie Hunt, WR In a very balanced attack from the receivers, Hunt stood out with two catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. NR
6 Zaviar Gooden, LB Gooden had an interception which he returned for a touchdown and led the Tigers with six tackles before taking a seat with the other starters. NR
7 Michael Sam, DE Sam had a scoop and score off the Ealy forced fumble and spent a good deal of time in the SELA backfield as well. NR
8 Corbin Berkstresser, QB Yes, it was late in a blowout, but Berkstresser did everything the Tigers could have hoped, completing every pass and leading the offense to two touchdowns. NR
9 T.J. Moe, WR Moe certainly didn't have a big day in a balanced attack, but a diving catch accounted for Missouri's first score and Moe caught as many passes as anyone. NR
10 Jimmy Burge, DT Burge got a sack late and is looking like a dependable option as a second-string tackle for Missouri after a strong camp. 4
11 Dorial Green-Beckham, WR Nothing spectacular, but the freshman caught three passes and played a ton of snaps in his first game. A leaping 29-yard grab showed off the athletcism fans will see much more of as the season goes on. 8
