WASHINGTON - Georgetown University senior men's basketball Jason Clark (Arlington, Va./Bishop O'Connell) was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team on Sunday afternoon and was one of three Hoyas to earn all-league honors.

The Hoyas finished the 2011-12 regular season with a 22-7 overall record and 12-6 mark in the BIG EAST, tying for fourth place overall. Clark was joined on the All-BIG EAST First Team by Jeremy Lamb (Connecticut), Kris Joseph (Syracuse), Kevin Jones (West Virginia), along with Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom (Marquette).

This is the first all-league recognition for Clark, a senior captain who is a three-year starter. Clark also ranks fourth all-time in three-point field goals made (179),fourth in three-point attempts (489) and 16th all-time in steals (166).

Henry Sims was joined on the third team by Vincent Council (Providence), Herb Pope (Seton Hall, Dion Waiters (Syracuse) and Darryl Bryant(West Virginia).

A 6-10 center, Sims has enjoyed the best year of his career as a senior. He is third on the team in scoring (11.1 ppg), tied for second in rebounding (5.6 rpg) and leads the team with 3.41 assists. Sims ranks 14th in the BIG EAST in assists and 20th in among league players in rebounds. Entering his senior year with 88 games played and three games in double figures in scoring, Sims has reached double figures 17 times this year. A skilled passer, Sims led the team in assists 19 times this season.

Sims also leads the team in blocked shots (1.41 per game) and is the only player to rank among the top-15 in the BIG EAST in both assists and blocks. His 90 career rejections ranks 19th all-time at Georgetown.

Hollis Thompson earned his first all-league recognition by being selected honorable mention. He is second on the team in scoring with 13.0 points per game and is tied for second in the league (and tied for 20th in the BIG EAST) with 5.6 rebounds per game. Under Head Coach John Thompson III, the Hoyas have had 15 All-BIG EAST selections, including six first team selections, four second team honorees, three third team nods and two honorable mentions.

Clark being named to the All-BIG EAST first team gives Georgetown 24 all-time selections to that squad. Sims' third team recognition marks the 16th time a Georgetown player has been placed on that squad. Since the BIG EAST was formed in 1979-80, Georgetown players have earned 78 all-conference honors.
