Mays Not Far From Brother Now

We just did a story on Jonathan Warner from Camas and how he is making his way to Penn State and coming out from the shadow cast by his NFL Dad Curt. But there are a lot of guys this season with famous Dad's but in the case of Parker Mays it's his Dad and his Brother.

His Dad Stafford played at Lincoln High School in Tacoma and went on to play for the U of W, the Cardinals, and the Vikings. His oldest son Taylor Mays became a household name around the country as a stand out player at USC (3 time All American) and now as a starting safety for the 49er's.

In a story we covered this year we pointed out that Parker Mays at Seattle Prep was growing, adding weight, and getting closer and closer to his famous brother in resemblance and playing ability.

So what is happening now with Parker?

"I have grown some more and am now almost 6'3" and 195 pounds. I grew a lot on an and off the field and am getting some serious interest," said Parker.

Making his own way as a WR he had about 550 yards this season, 9 TD's on 25 catches. Not too bad. Junior star Tailback Tere Calloway tore it up this season for Prep and Mays and he made a nice combination.

What about the Senior's prospects?

"Idaho State has offered me and I did a visit which was nice. A number of other schools are very close to me including the Montana schools, University of San Diego, and Wyoming," said Mays who is heading to Wyoming soon on an Official visit.

The Cowboys struck Gold this past year with Salem, Oregon QB Brett Smith who started every game and was First Team All American.

They have the commitment of Trent Sewell and are working on Uso Olive and DJ May of Federal Way. So Parker may be riding into the Cowboys corral too. Time will tell.

Right now Parker is lifting and getting ready for track.

"I am excited to have opportunity to play at a school where I can contribute. Things will get interesting when I get down to Wyoming and see what the options are there," concluded Mays.

The terrific student athlete continues to rise and you sure can not argue with the success of his family in America's game. We will continue to bring you the story of one of WashingtonPreps.com top in state athletes.
