Crimmins has another big night

Dan Crimmins just keeps putting up big numbers.

One week after scoring five times, the Demarest, N.J., athlete finished with three catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns in his team's win over Tenafly on Saturday.

He wasn't the only Boston College commit to do well last weekend.

Steven Daniels, doing a prep year at Worcester (Mass.) Academy, recorded a sack, a forced fumble, a tackle for loss and a blocked field goal in a 21-14 loss to Salisbury School.

Linebacker Tim Joy had an interception to help lead Chelmsford, Mass., in a 48-28 victory over Andover.

Running back Akeel Lynch, who scored five times two weekends ago as well, scored twice in the first quarter but his Athol Springs (N.Y.) St. Francis squad couldn't get past Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius, 21-20.

Harrison Jackson had one catch, a 27-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter, to help lead Purcellville (Va.) Loudoun Valley past Potomac Falls, 49-14.

Offensive lineman Jim Cashman and Haddonfield (N.J.) Memorial cruised past Lindenwold, 44-0, as did Win Homer and his Christchurch (Va.) squad over St. George Blue Ridge, 36-0.

Defensive back Justin Simmons and Stuart (Fla.) Martin County along with lineman Frank Taylor and Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood cruised to easy wins. Simmons' team won 35-0 and it was 55-7 in favor of Taylor's squad.

Defensive end Malachi Moore and Sparta (N.J.) Pope John XXIII couldn't get past Sparta, 13-6.

It has been a brutal stretch for tight end Sam Grant and his Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward squad.

A week after losing to powerhouse Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep, Grant's team went down to St. Xavier, 17-10 this past weekend. Not making things any easier, St. Edward faces Cincinnati Moeller in its next game.

Defensive back Donovan Henry and his West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial squad and linebacker Mike Strizak, who plays at Don Bosco Prep, both had byes last week.
