Davis twins commit to Pitt

Pitt added two speedy receivers to the 2012 commitment list on Sunday when Austintown (Oh.) Fitch athletes Chris and Demitrious Davis committed to the Panthers.

The Davis twins made their announcement in front of family and friends at a small gathering in Austintown.

More than 20 colleges offered Chris and Demitrious, with the likes of Arkansas, Colorado, Cincinnati, Iowa, Minnesota, UCLA, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, and Purdue on both players' lists. Oregon also offered Demitrious a scholarship.

Demitrious, 5'10" 183, rushed for 1,091 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior in 2010, while also passing for 986 yards and 9 touchdowns last season. Chris, 5'9" 190, had 748 all-purpose yards in 2010. Both of the twins are being recruited as receivers.

With the Davis brothers on board, Pitt now has nine commitments in the class of 2012. Johnstown linebacker Alkwan Williams, Sto-Rox cornerback Marzett Geter Clairton receiver Trenton Coles, Germantown cornerback William Parks, Bedford (Oh.) defensive end Myles Hilliard, and Cincinnati (Oh.) St. Xavier offensive lineman Brandyn Cook have also committed to Pitt.

Stay tuned to Panther-Lair.com for more from the Davis twins on their commitments to Pitt.
