Start fast
1

While Nebraska is on a four-game winning streak, it's had to dig itself out of some big holes in the second half to get there. The Huskers have finally started to address their first-half scoring woes this week, and it will be interesting to see if they can actually put up some offense in the first half tonight against a dismal Alcorn State team
Run the floor
2

Part of the reason Nebraska has been able to get going offensively in the second half has been because it has to pick up the tempo of its game. As a result, the Huskers' offense has been considerably better after halftime. Nebraska needs to play with the same type of urgency for 40 minutes to prevent getting down early, and picking up the pace of the game from the opening tip is definitely a start.
Dominate the glass
3

The rebound battle shouldn't even be close tonight, as Nebraska should dominate the glass on both ends floor all night. Going up against a team whose leading rebounder is only pulling in four boards per game, the Huskers should get a ton of second-chance points, which in turn should help provide a spark to the offense.

Senior guard Lance Jeter on the reason for NU's slow starts:

"I think it's a mental thing. You just have to come out in the first half the same way we do in the second half, with a little bit of urgency. We do come out with urgency but when our shots don't fall I feel that we forget about defense sometimes too, so we don't play a complete game. We just have to come out and play hard in the first five minutes."
NU guard Brandon Richardson on NU's offensive problems:

"We can't have those kind of mess-ups. They had five offensive rebounds and we gave up six transition baskets, so that's something we have to fix before next game."

Nebraska 78-60
