TE returning to Auburn

Fort Meade (Fla.) tight end Brandon Fulse took an unofficial visit to Auburn for the Tigers' 27-24 win over Clemson.

During the September visit, the 6-foot-4, 245-pound four-star prospect met with the Auburn coaches, spoke to former high school teammate Onterio McCalebb and then watched as the Tigers' sophomore running back led the team in rushing with 81 yards and a touchdown.

Fulse left Auburn having experienced the Tigers' game day atmosphere, but he didn't get to experience it completely. He missed out on two of the things he wanted to see most.

"I missed Tiger Walk," said Fulse. "We got there right before it started, but couldn't find a parking spot. And then I was in the locker room before the game and missed the eagle flying."

Fulse will get another chance to see the two pregame traditions next weekend when Auburn hosts LSU. He'll be back on Auburn's campus for an unofficial visit.

"I'm going to try and get there an hour before Tiger Walk," said Fulse. "I know now if you are going to Auburn, you have to get there early."

Fulse, rated the No. 9 tight end in the 2011 class, is being recruited to Auburn by Jay Boulware. Fulse spoke to the Tigers' tight end coach Sunday about the upcoming visit.

"I talked to the whole offensive staff," said Fulse. "That went good. I like Coach Boulware. I like all of Auburn's coaches. They are great people and great coaches. I have built a really good relationship with them."

The relationship Fulse has with the Auburn coaches continues to be a big reason the Tigers remain on Fulse's list of favorites. Auburn is one of seven schools Fulse is currently considering, joining Miami, Florida State, Oregon, Texas Tech, Tennessee and Alabama.

He would like to narrow the list soon, and possibly make a commitment early next month.

"If I'm positive of where I want to go, I'll make my decision Nov. 3," said Fulse. "If I'm not sure, I'll have to push that back, but it wouldn't be long. I'd like to go ahead and get it out of the way. If it wasn't Nov. 3, it could be any day after that."

Fulse said if he was to narrow his list before making an announcement, Auburn would be on it.

"Auburn has a good shot," he said. "I loved the game atmosphere against Clemson. Auburn's stadium is always packed, and that's what I like. I'd love to play in front of 85,000.

"If I make a cut, make a top five, Auburn would make the cut."

Although Fulse would like to make a commitment before the end of the season, he doesn't intend to take any of his five official visits until after the season.

"I don't want to take my officials with the coaches worrying about the game and also worrying about me," he said. "I just thought it would be best to save the coaches some pressure, let them do what they need to do. After the season, I can go and spend most of my time with them."

Fulse would like to take official visits to schools that are farthest away from his South Florida home, mainly Oregon, Texas Tech and Tennessee. Auburn could also receive an official visit.

"I might be back at Auburn for one," he said. "I will have been up there three times and seen two games so I'm not sure if I will or not. I'm just going to wait and see how everything goes, but I'm looking forward to going back up there next week.

"I will be watching the Arkansas game on T.V., but I'll be in the crowd for LSU. I hope it's like it was during the Clemson game, a real loud and intense game."

Rivals rates Fulse the No. 30 recruit from Florida and the nation's No. 161 overall prospect.
