NC State injury report for Western Carolina game

NC State released its injury report for the season opener against Western Carolina Saturday. The Pack will kick off the season without the services of sophomore running back James Washington and redshirt junior receiver Jay Smith, the two new additions to the Pack's walking wounded.

Washington (hamstring) and Smith (groin) join a list of players who have been previously listed as out for the game. Here is the full injury report:


RB Brandon Barnes - ankle
CB Jarvis Byrd - knee
DE Sylvester Crawford - hip
OL R.J. Mattes - knee
WR Quintin Payton - finger
WR Jay Smith - groin
RB James Washington - hamstring


CB Jesse Riley - knee
CB Rashard Smith - knee
