JOHNSBURG, Ill.- Tuesday was definitely not your ordinary day at Johnsburg High School.

Johnsburg, Ill., four-star ranked tight end prospect C.J. Fiedorowicz was presented his official nomination to the 2010 U.S. Army All American Bowl Game. The game will be played at noon CST on Jan. 9 in San Antonio's Alamodome.

It's not every day that your entire school turns out to the gymnasium for a pep rally in honor of your nomination.

"It was definitely unexpected to have the whole school in the gym for this announcement," Fiedorowicz said. "I just wasn't expecting all of this. It's a really good feeling to have so many people support you for something like this. Hopefully I can go out and play really well for all of the fans here when I get into the game in January."

Fiedorowicz, who has caught 24 passes for 573 yards and eight touchdowns in seven games so far this season for the Skyhawks and first year head coach Barry Creviston, talked about what getting a chance to play in the All American Bowl means to him.

"Getting nominated to play in the Army game really means a lot to me," he said. "I wanted to make the Army game since my freshman year when I first started to really get into football and saw my first action on the varsity."

Today's press conference is just the beginning of what Fiedorowicz hopes is a busy fall.

"We are in the middle of trying to get a state playoff bid right now and we have a huge game this week against Prairie Ridge," he said. "Right now, we are 4-3, and we want to go out and win our last two games to ensure that we get into the state playoffs."

Fiedorowicz, who earlier this summer gave the University of Illinois his verbal commitment talked about his latest recruiting news.

"I'm still with Illinois, but they are playing a little rough right now," he said.

"I'm planning to keep my options open right now with Illinois and Iowa. I went to Illinois this past weekend for an unofficial visit. I'm planning to take my official visit to Illinois on Dec. 12.

"I'm also looking at going out to a game soon at Iowa, and I'll take an official visit to Iowa most likely toward the end of October or early November. I haven't set up anything with Iowa just yet, but I'm planning to take an official visit there as well."
