Georgia Tech Preview

Mississippi State will return to the gridiron today hoping to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to No. 4 ranked LSU.

The Bulldogs were stopped an inch from the goal line one 4th-and-goal from the 1-yard line allowing LSU to escape with a 30-26 win. MSU will try to bounce back welcoming No. 25 Georgia Tech for their first ever visit to the Magnolia State at 6:30 p.m.

"We've obviously got a tough one coming up this week with Georgia Tech," said MSU head coach Dan Mullen. "They have a really powerful running attack. They are a team that has been ranked for most of the season in the Top 25. Their guys have a great system and they believe in their system and execute their system very well. They like to control the tempo of the game. They have a young, talented defense and a team that is really believing in what they are doing."

The Yellow Jackets dominated last season's game 38-7 in Atlanta. Georgia Tech rolled up 500 yards on offense including 438 yards on the ground confusing the Bulldogs defense with their spread option attack. State did manage 407 yards in that game but four turnovers prevented the offense from reaching the end zone more than once.

The Yellow Jackets have never lost to Mississippi State holding the series edge at 3-0 with all three previous games taking place in Atlanta.

The Bulldogs (2-2) enter today's game averaging 355.5 yards and 27.5 points per game. MSU is ranked fourth in the Southeastern Conference and 26th nationally with 204 yards rushing a contest while gaining another 151.5 yards through the air.
