Mullen talks second fall scrimmage

Mississippi State had a dress rehearsal of sorts early Saturday morning.

The Bulldogs went through an approximate 120-play scrimmage at Davis Wade Stadium to work out even the smallest of details that the team could face during the season opener Sept. 5 against Jackson State.

"Today was a good day for everything as far as how we get dressed at the stadium, how we walk out when we go out for our warm-ups, the order of how everybody goes and where they go on game day to do things, how we take the field , where we go to meet at halftime, how we run back on the field for the second half," said MSU head coach Dan Mullen. "We got all those things done as well as a little football. We had a good workday."

Even the Bulldog coaches were getting ready for game day donning headsets and finding their particular positions either on the sideline or in the booth upstairs.

"I'm really glad that we did it with the coaches and communication," Mullen said. "We had all the headphones out and everybody off the field. We were wristbanding plays and signaling everything in."

Coaches in the booth this season will be Carl Torbush, Tony Hughes, Les Koenning, Scott Sallach along with the two graduate assistants.
